I have received the attached response from Greater Anglia to my letter from the beginning of January, their response is not good enough. I will therefore continue to work alongside my Suffolk colleagues to push for immediate improvements to the network and I will update constituents once I have met the Secretary of State and Greater Anglia with information on the next steps.
The recent disruption on both Greater Anglia’s mainline and branch services has not been good enough, passengers expect and deserve a reliable service. It is concerning that many of the delays and cancellations are being caused by faults with the new trains, and I will be seeking answers to why these faults are occurring and how Greater Anglia plan to fix these issues.
I will be seeking an urgent meeting with the Secretary of State for Transport regarding the Greater Anglia franchise, as frankly the service they are currently providing is wholly inadequate. I have given Greater Anglia numerous opportunities to improve the service after a difficult Christmas period, but have so far received no assurances that we will see any improvements soon.
