On Friday 25 September at 11.00am, Jo Churchill MP will attend the opening of Muntons’ new anaerobic digestion plant by The Baroness Scott of Needham Market.
Mrs Churchill said: “This plant is the result of a £5.3m investment allowing Muntons to generate 25% its electricity at its Needham Market site.
This is exactly the sort of investment in Green technology that businesses should be making. It’s going to reduce road tanker movements by 225,000km while being of huge benefit to the company’s supply chain.
This state of the art facility takes waste water generated from processing barley and malt, allows the release of clean water into the local river and generates a fertiliser that is being sold back to farmers who grow cereals for Munton’s malt production.
I look forward to seeing this excellent innovation in action and another example of a great Suffolk based company making sustainable and progressive changes to their operation.”
