Our understanding of the impact of loneliness and isolation on an individual’s health and wellbeing has grown in recent years. That is where Men’s Shed’s come in.
Men’s Sheds are a place to enjoy practical interests, practice skills and making and mending at leisure, all while building friendships and sharing skills and knowledge.
We already have one Shed up and running in the constituency in Stowmarket which I have enjoyed visiting on a number occasions to see the Shedders in action! They help our communities, having built the fabulous turnstiles at the football club and providing mud kitchens for some of our early years facilities.
It is very welcome that there are plans underway to set up a further Shed in Bury St Edmunds which would increase access to this great initiative.
