I welcome that over £260 million has been committed for local authorities to support people who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes, by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
Locally, West Suffolk Council will be receiving over £549,000 and Mid Suffolk Council will be receiving over £150,000 from April. This will support the good work that has been taking place and enable it to continue.
The causes of homelessness are complex. This is why outreach work and engagement are so important to support some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
I am determined to see the positive impact of the Homelessness Reduction Act, introduced during the last Parliament, continue and work extended with a multi-agency approach helping to benefit individuals.
