The debate brought forward the motion that the Treasury support UK Science which Mrs Churchill acknowledged already had much to be proud of, as home to Formula 1 constructors as well as producing numerous Nobel Prize winning scientists.
Following the debate, Mrs Jo Churchill MP said: “Despite the already successful science industry here in the UK, the Government falls well short of its major competitors in investing in this field. I don’t just want to see a good science industry but a fantastic science industry operating in the UK. I firmly believe the industry has a greater potential to deliver more across the world. I urge the Government to commit itself to UK science and unleash its full potential.”
