On Friday 11th November, from 10am to 12.30pm, Jo Churchill MP will be hosting an ‘Older Persons’ Information Fair’ in Stowmarket. To be held at the John Peel Centre in Stowmarket, the fair is intended to provide every day advice, information and support to people across the Constituency, many of whom are over 65. The fair is to be attended by a number of local and national organisations and service providers including; Citizens Advice Bureau, Suffolk Careline, the Department of Work and Pensions and Age UK. The event will also host National Trust, Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Needham Market Internet Café and the Rural Coffee Caravan as well as many more.
Speaking ahead of the event, Jo Churchill MP said: “It is concerning that, despite our fantastic local service providers, I still receive a number of correspondence regarding access to local information and support for the more mature members of our community. That is why I am hosting the ‘Older Persons’ Information Fair’, to help ensure this age group are aware of, and can access, a range of services available to them.
The fair will provide an excellent opportunity for residents to meet and speak with service providers about any concerns they may have. The event will also be holding a two minute silence at 11am, to mark Remembrance Day.”
The fair is completely free to attend and tea and coffee will be served. Please see the attached flyer and letter of invitation, for more information.
The event will be held at John Peel Centre, Church Walk, Stowmarket, IP14 1ET from 10am-12.30pm. The centre as parking nearby and good disabled access.
