On Thursday 9th June, Jo Churchill MP will be meeting at Ipswich Magistrates Court with representatives from HM Courts and Tribunal Service to discuss what measures are being taken in the closure of the Bury St Edmunds Magistrates Court, as alternative arrangements are made to maintain local justice to Bury St Edmunds.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, Jo Churchill MP said: “I have called for this meeting to be held between local stakeholders, local leaders and representatives from HM Courts and Tribunal Service because the establishment of an alternative local provision of local justice to Bury St Edmunds, in place of Bury St Edmunds Magistrates Court, is paramount. I want clarity over the closure of Bury St Edmunds Magistrates Court and to push ahead with the consideration of all alternative options, so that my constituents know what the future of their local justice will look like. This is what I intend for the meeting to be held on Thursday 9th June.”
